* **Affected vehicles:** 2013–2016 BMW 328d, 2014–2016 BMW 428i, 2013–2015 BMW X3 xDrive28d, and 2013–2015 BMW X5 xDrive35d * **Number of vehicles affected:** 720,000 worldwide, including 390,000 in the United States * **Reason for recall:** An improperly sealed circuit in the water pumps of the affected vehicles can allow water to enter the electrical system, which can cause a short circuit and increase the risk of an electrical fire.

* Check if your vehicle is affected by visiting the NHTSA website or by contacting BMW customer service at 1-866-ASK-MINI (1-866-275-6464). * If your vehicle is affected, schedule an appointment with your local BMW dealer to have the recall repair performed. The repair involves replacing the affected water pump. * The recall repair is free of charge.
