Designated Hitter Isaac Paredes Assigned to Naranjeros de Hermosillo

The Detroit Tigers have assigned infielder Isaac Paredes to the Naranjeros de Hermosillo for the 2017-2018 season. The move was announced after the Tigers traded catcher Alex Avila and left-handed pitcher Justin Wilson to the Chicago Cubs.
The 23-year-old Paredes is a native of Hermosillo and was a key piece in the Tigers' minor league system. He was assigned to the Erie SeaWolves of the Double-A Eastern League in 2017 and hit .288 with 16 home runs and 64 RBIs in 117 games.
Paredes made his Major League debut with the Tigers in 2019 and has since played for the Rays. He is expected to play a key role for the Naranjeros this season as they look to win their first championship since 2014.
