Mavericks Fall in Boston, Porzingis' Return Not Enough

The Boston Celtics took a 1-0 lead in the NBA Finals on Thursday night, defeating the Dallas Mavericks 117-96 in Game 1. Kristaps Porziņģis returned from injury for the Mavericks, but his 16 points and 13 rebounds were not enough to overcome the Celtics' depth and defense.

The Celtics were led by Jayson Tatum, who scored 29 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Jaylen Brown added 24 points, and Al Horford had 12 points and 15 rebounds.
