De Zerbi departs after just four months in charge

Roberto De Zerbi has left Brighton and Hove Albion by mutual consent, the club has announced. The Italian coach was appointed in September 2022 on a four-year deal, but has been relieved of his duties after just four months in charge.

De Zerbi's departure comes as a surprise, as he had only recently been praised for his work at the Amex Stadium. Brighton are currently ninth in the Premier League, and De Zerbi had led them to a 3-0 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup fourth round last month.

However, it is understood that De Zerbi had been growing increasingly frustrated with the club's transfer policy, and he ultimately decided to leave in order to pursue other opportunities.

Brighton are now on the lookout for a new head coach, and it is expected that they will move quickly to appoint a replacement for De Zerbi.
