Boeing whistleblower's family speaks out
Joshua Dean, a quality inspector for the Boeing supplier Spirit AeroSystems, died this week after a surprise infection left him in critical condition. The Boeing whistleblower was found dead in Charleston, South Carolina, on Saturday, in between depositions over the weekend, and showed no indications he would take his own life, according to his family.
"I don't think Boeing is behind his death," Robert Turkewitz, the family's attorney, said Monday. "But we're not ruling anything out."
Dean's family said in a statement that they are "heartbroken" by his death and that they are "demanding a full and thorough investigation into his death." The family also said that they did not want to speculate on the cause of Dean's death.
Boeing whistleblower John Barnett, 62, was reportedly found dead on Saturday. He was scheduled to undergo more questioning about Boeing after alleging that the company had misled regulators about the safety of its 737 MAX aircraft.
